Mozarts Requiem and Krönungsmesse with The Bach Choir & Orchestra of the Netherlands.
Mozart’s Requiem became known to the general public through the film ‘Amadeus’ and is perhaps the most impressive work by this composer who died young. Mozart wrote it just before his own death, commissioned by an anonymous patron. The Requiem evokes feelings of mourning, fear and sadness. But at the same time hope, light and beauty.
The festive Krönungsmesse presents a completely different Mozart. At the coronation of the King of Bohemia, the Archbishop decreed that the mass should not last longer than 25 minutes. Despite, or perhaps because of, this limitation, the Mass radiates vitality and energy.
Olga Zinovieva opens the concert with Mozart’s motet for soprano solo and orchestra: Exsultate Jubilate! The Bach Choir & Orchestra of the Netherlands brings this centuries-old music back to life

In het koor van de Laurenskerk bouwen we een pijporgel van de toekomst, dat digitaal te bespelen is: een ‘hyperorgel’. Zo wordt het orgel toegankelijker voor een brede groep musici.
