Tymen Jan Bronda is popular as a organist performer at home and abroad. Every year he gives many concerts and makes recordings on renowned organs and in ensembles.
Tymen Jan Bronda is organist, initiator, artistic director and conductor of the Luthers Bach Ensemble, which he founded in 2006. He received his first organ lesson when he was seven years old. After a number of years of lessons from Piet Wiersma, he went on to study organ at the Groningen Conservatory with Johan Beeftink and Theo Jellema. He obtained his diploma in church music at the conservatory of Zwolle. In 2009 he completed his organ studies with Reitze Smits, at the Utrecht School of the Arts, with the title Master of Music.
In 2001 Tymen Jan became cantor-organist of the Lutheran Congregation in Groningen and organized the series ‘Orgel Anders’ (crossover concerts) in this church. He also plays an important role in the Bach cantatas that are performed there. As a teacher of Church Music, he is affiliated with the Church Music Northern Netherlands course of the Protestant Church in the Netherlands (PKN). As a conductor he is also associated with chamber choir Tiraña from Groningen.
In 2012 Tymen Jan took the initiative to reconstruct the former Schnitger organ (1699/1717) of the Lutheran church in Groningen. The resounding result of this successful campaign, the baroque organ built by Bernhardt Edskes, was put into use in 2017. In the Lutheran church in Groningen, for example, a historical practice is revived in which the organ is used as a continuo instrument in the performance of Bach cantatas. It is an interesting development that is attracting international attention in Baroque performance practice.
During the corona period, the cantata cycle Membra Jesu Nostri was recorded. During this time, Tymen Jan also recorded a new CD with the new baroque continuo organ by Bernhardt Edskes, together with Robert Kuizenga and Mike Fentross.

In het koor van de Laurenskerk bouwen we een pijporgel van de toekomst, dat digitaal te bespelen is: een ‘hyperorgel’. Zo wordt het orgel toegankelijker voor een brede groep musici.
