Marco D’Avola is a distinguished Sicilian musician renowned for his contributions as an organist, composer, and pianist.
Marco D’Avola (1959) obtained his diplomas at the “Vincenzo Bellini” Music Conservatory in Palermo, with good grades and “summa laude”; He then followed many internships with J. Guillou, O. Pierre, J. Demus, L.F. Tagliavini, A. Sacchetti.
As an organist, he has given more than 1500 concerts in Europe, the United States, Japan and Russia, for the most important International Organ Festivals.As a composer, he has written a large number of symphonic, choral and instrumental works, including: the “Messa di Requiem”, dedicated to Pope John Paul II and performed at the Vatican; five Concertos for organ and orchestra: the no. 1 op. 29 performed by the Philharmonic Orchestra of the State of Bielorussia, Minsk; No. 3 performed by the Franziskaner Orchestra (Mozarteum), Salzburg; two Concertos for piano and orchestra: No. 1 performed at the Festival of Contemporary Music, Bacau; No. 2 performed by the Egyptian Philharmonic Orchestra, Cairo; “Magnificat” performed by the Shinguya Philharmonic Orchestra, Tokyo.
Marco D’Avola is a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists in London, the American Guild of Organists in New York and of the Fellowship of Rotarian Musicians P.H.F.. (U.S.A.); he is inspector of the region of Sicily for historical organs; he is titular organist of the St. John the Baptist Cathedral of Ragusa; His musical compositions have been recorded and published by Pauline Editions (Vatican), I.M.S. (New York), Triplo Press (U.S.A.), T.G.E. (Switzerland), Halidon, Berben, Eurarte (Italy), and broadcast by RAI Radiotelevisione Italiana, Vatican Radio, KCME Denver (U.S.A.), German, French, Spanish, Polish and Romanian Televisions.
