Organ lunchbreakconcert with Leander van den Bos on the transeptorgan
Leander van den Bos was born in 2005 and lived in Bruinisse until he was 15. In the meantime, after several moves, it has become Goes.
After 2 years of AMV lessons at the Zeeland music school, he started studying trumpet there, obtained some diplomas, and at the age of 11 he started his organ studies with Rinus Verhage (Sommelsdijk). He later continued this with Jacob Schenk (Urk) and Evan Bogerd (Amsterdam); the latter prepared him for the conservatory. After choosing Codarts Rotterdam, he now takes lessons with Aart Bergwerf, Christian Schmitt and Bas de Vroome, in addition to improvisation lessons with Hayo Boerema. In addition to majoring in organ, he also receives piano lessons from Sara Gutierrez and basso continuo lessons from Bas de Vroome.
In addition to these lessons, he took various private lessons and masterclasses with a.o. Jos van der Kooy, Henk Verhoef, Vincent Dubois, Ton Koopman, Ben van Oosten, Stephen Tharp, Laurens Kooracademie and he participated in masterclass days organized by ECHO. He also won two second prizes at the Duyschot competition in Amsterdam.
As a concert organist he gives (international) solo concerts, but also accompanies choirs and soloists, and has been able to participate in concerts with (symphony) orchestra. Leander is active as a church organist in the Gasthuiskerk in Zierikzee, and he teaches about twenty students, including mainly young organists.
