Hayo Boerema is an award-winning and internationally acclaimed organist and composer.
Making the organ accessible to a wide audience, that is what has inspired Hayo Boerema for twenty years as an organist, teacher and composer. With his interpretations, he looks for contrasts and extremes in the compositions of both established and contemporary composers in order to captivate the traditional music lover and the more experimental music lover.
His repertoire ranges from Sweelinck to contemporary music with plenty of room for Bach, Messiaen and French music from the 20th century. Hayo not only works as a soloist, but also regularly collaborates with choirs and instrumental ensembles.
In het koor van de Laurenskerk bouwen we een pijporgel van de toekomst, dat digitaal te bespelen is: een ‘hyperorgel’. Zo wordt het orgel toegankelijker voor een brede groep musici.
