Do you dare to walk the streets alone in the dark? Street harassment and sexual violence must stop! On the night of 17 to 18 May 2025, we will take action and walk 20 kilometers through nocturnal Rotterdam.
With the Night Against Sexual Violence, Plan International draws attention to street harassment and sexual violence worldwide. On the night of 17 to 18 May 2025, hundreds of participants will walk 20 kilometres through nocturnal Rotterdam to take action and raise money for the fight against street harassment and sexual violence. Everyone in the world should be able to feel safe anytime, anywhere. Even when it’s dark.
The fight against sexual violence is desperately needed. Worldwide, 1 in 3 women has experienced sexual and/or physical violence. Girls and women try to prevent sexual harassment and violence in all kinds of ways. For example, out of fear of what might happen, they consciously choose their seat on public transport, hide in a large sweater or call a friend on the way. In other words, they don’t feel safe. This is unacceptable!
The proceeds of the Night Against Sexual Violence are spent on projects of Plan International that are aimed at combating sexual violence and street harassment worldwide. For example, by identifying dangerous places in neighbourhoods and cities and making them safer, providing information about girls’ rights and training young people to speak out against sexual harassment and violence.

In het koor van de Laurenskerk bouwen we een pijporgel van de toekomst, dat digitaal te bespelen is: een ‘hyperorgel’. Zo wordt het orgel toegankelijker voor een brede groep musici.
