The Bach Choir & Orchestra of the Netherlands is uniquely capable of conveying the symbolism, emotion and comfort to you as a listener.
The St Matthew Passion is considered the favourite composition in the Passion in the Netherlands and is anchored in our culture.
Johann Sebastian Bach came up with a unique arrangement for his magnus opus: two choirs and two orchestras. The composition tells the chronological passion of Christ in which symbolism plays a major role. Bach uses all kinds of musical means to get rich effects. He wrote specific roles for both instruments and soloists. The narrator: the evangelist, takes you through the story. He is alternated by the choir, at once intimate and at other times overwhelming. Each soloist has his own emotional dimension such as love, sorrow, comfort, contemplative.
The musicians of The Bach Orchestra play authentic instruments from Bach’s time and The Bach Choir is praised for its dynamic and expressive sound. The (inter)national soloists have an enormous dedication which will be audible and visible during the masterful arias. They are able to convey the symbolism, emotion and comfort to you as a listener like no other.

In het koor van de Laurenskerk bouwen we een pijporgel van de toekomst, dat digitaal te bespelen is: een ‘hyperorgel’. Zo wordt het orgel toegankelijker voor een brede groep musici.
